The Gold Diamond Group for Investment and Development Company is an Egyptian-American enterprise, originated in southern California and officially documented in Cairo, Egypt. Although the company is authorized in Egypt to build roads, sewers, desalination plants, theme parks, hospitals, universities, airports, even entire cities—the focus is currently on theme parks and destination resorts in Egypt to bolster its economy.
To accentuate my client’s Egyptian flavor, I chose symbolism that implies a royal and exalted level: the scarab; a symbol of creation, transformation and renewal—all appropriate to the company’s brand and image. In this hieroglyph, it customarily holds the sun. I substituted this with a diamond for the companies namesake and because diamonds also reflect and scatter light. Therefore, the mythology remains pure. Executed in Adobe Illustrator, my client is ecstatic!
